Corporate Prayer ~ The first Sunday of every month we gather to pray for the concerns and needs of our church, as well as other prayer concerns.  We meet at 7:30 pm in the Library.  All are welcome and we hope you are able to join us.

 Fellowship Hall Schedule

WPC has rental agreement for both members and non-members.  When you need to rent the hall for a non-church function, please pick up your form in the office, fill it out and it will be reviewed by the trustees. Thanks!

Rwandan Baskets

A group from WPC will be traveling to Rwanda from September 16-30.  We will visit the basket weavers and would love to bring back any baskets that people have ordered and prepaid.  They would be approximately 8-10”  in diameter flatter looking and cost $20 or 12” diameter , round and cost $25.  The colors to pickl would be natural with either black, brown, rust, dark green, or purple in assorted patterns.  We need to order them now so they will be ready when we visit.  You will be able to receive them October 3rd.

These are great gifts for family and friends or even yourself, but most important what a blessing to these Rwandan women.

Brown Bag Sunday

The third Sunday of each month is designated as “Brown Bag Sunday” in order for us to help stock the Shepherd’s pantry shelves.  Listed below are the non-perishable items requested by the Pantry this month.  You may drop them off the following Sunday when you come to worship or continue to make a monetary donation by using one of the Shepherd’s pantry envelopes in your pews.

CHADD

Support group for Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder? (CHADD), meets every third Thursday, 7:30-9PM. The group provides information, support, resources, and fellowship for individuals and parents of children affected. There is no cost, but they are invited to join national CHADD, and applications are available at meetings.

LBS September Meeting

 The Ladies Benevolent Society will have a pot luck dinner on Wednesday, September 8 at 7:00 pm in the fellowship hall at the church as part of their September meeting.  We will be calling those folks on the active members list so women can sign up to bring a main dish, salad, drinks, or dessert.  We will be discussing upcoming meetings and reviewing our lists of committees.  We also plan to play some games.  The officers and board members have planned an exciting array of monthly programs, field trips, and a fundraiser for the coming year.  A reminder that dues ($1) will also be collected.  Please plan to join us for a fun night of good food and Christian fellowship.  We always welcome new members.  All women of WPC are invited.

LAZARUS HOUSE NEED

It has come to our attention that the Lazarus House Pantry is very low on canned goods (soups and vegetables).  Our church could help by bringing in those items on Sundays and dropping them off in the labeled container in the entryway of the church. Every Monday the cans would be brought to Lazarus House by the group that brings them breakfast. Or, if you feel you would like to send in a donation to the pantry for them to purchase food, their address is:

Sunday School Teacher Needed 2nd Service - This is a multi-age class, usually 5-10 kids between 2nd - 5th grade, all though it could be K-5th.  Teach with a spouse or friend, or split the Sundays between you.  We have volunteers willing to assist as needed.  Please contact Kristi St. Laurent thru the church office 432-2150 or kristi@windhamchurch.org.  The kids of 2nd Service thank you!

 Nursery volunteers needed:  Next month WPC will be returning to two services each Sunday and volunteers are needed to help Denise and Katy in the nursery.                            LOCAL MISSION VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

The Sonshine Soup Kitchen located in Derry serves free meals Monday - Friday to individuals and families struggling to live independently.  There is always a need for small groups or individuals to volunteer from 3:00-6:00  to help ready and serve the meal.  If you feel this is something you or your family (children must be 12 or older) may have an interest in, please call Christine at 437-2833 to coordinate a day.  Their other need is for drivers to bring  those meals to shut-ins.
